The San Francisco Symphony holds its bi-annual Black and White Ball as a fundraising effort to support music programs in San Francisco public schools. For the 2008 ball, I created a versatile logo to be applied and used across all of the event materials including invitations, tickets, emails, event signage and menus. The logo was a typographic treatment based on the concept of a city block, because there are several venues around San Francisco’s Civic Center area with all types of live music performances and parties that guests can attend throughout the evening. For certain horizontal and vertical applications the logo was reconfigured to suit.
